Reflective Essay 2

Continuing to use Wix e-portfolio, my English writing skills doesn’t improve a lot because Wix is where I can enhance the layout ability and have a try on editing the website. My English writing skills does improve when I write much longer essays and more unfamiliar topics. I have to read a lot and search a lot to make sure I am on the right track. The word choice is correct and the logic is connected. Besides, as I say, Wix e-portfolio enhance my abilities of the layout and editing the website. Since I have already served as a graphic designer for TEDxChungChengU for one and half year, I possess the basic layout skill and aesthetics. Even so, the platform on Wix is totally different from what I am used to. But I have to say the way that Wix conducts is so awful. Every movement will face a temporary pause. Also, the design is not as convenient as Microsoft Word, which means I have to move the content so that I can put my picture. Microsoft Word will fit in automatically when I do so.

        Self-assessment and peer-assessment of the Wix e-portfolio actually help me a lot, for I cannot tell some mistakes like I have a page with nothing or I lack some parts of the items. Anyway, I have to say Wix gives me a basic picture of designing a website because I realize that if I want to get into the industry of design, graphic design is not enough. Therefore, I may have to learn some program languages even though I hate them. Wix actually help me with my first step to that area.

        The most difficult thing I have encountered must be the inconvenience of editing. First, the fonts on Wix are too few! I cannot even use my own fonts on my laptop I have downloaded before. So, it makes me feel so annoyed. Second, the picture will cover the content instead of moving out a space and reconstructing the content. Microsoft Word can do them both. It is a pity that Wix can do so. If Wix can make it, it will be very useful and time-saving because the only solution is to move the content one by one step by step slowly!!!

        Given the problems of Wix, I might not use it when I find a better one. But I have to say the functions Wix provided is enormous. It is like a treasure house as if I can explore all the functions. Therefore, I just hope Wix can really address the problem and make Wix easier and more convenient to use.
